Autogyro was first built in 1923 by Spanish engineer Juan de la Cierva. Its development went on during thirties and in Second World War II was used in armies usually for observation purposes. In Czechoslovakia was then flown by Bata company.
Autogyro model RAINBOW is designed for model builders who has basic experiences with motor modelc comntrolled by elevator and rudder (or ailerons). No problems with starts form hand or grassy field. Landing si easy even with autogyro flying only with autorotation. Thanks to relatively big rotor diameter is flying very straightforward. In the air you can handle situations in which other models would be practically lost. Side movements of autogyro RAINBOW are made by rotor tilt. Elevator works well in the whole range of speeds and in autorotation mode allows almost vertical and very slow landing. For trasportation of autogyro it is possible to turn rotor blades back over the airframe (by slackening of two blade bolts)
Flying time varies from 10 to 20 minutes (battery 3xLion,1350mAh , motor MEGA RC 400/15/7, propeller APC10x5 E). You can use rechargeable batteries with both higher or lower capacity.
It is absolutely necessary to take off and land against the wind!
