Every single crankcase is CNC milled from the solid in high tensile aircraft aluminium 7075-T6. In comparison to die casting a vastly more expensive process in time and materials. The CNC method has the very distinct advantage over die casting in that tolerances are very much closer and ensures a perfect alignment of the crankshaft as well as an overall greater stiffness and strength.
